Barucboc is one among the 15 barangays of Quezon, Isabela located at the southern part of the municipality and bounded by the municipality of Mallig. It was one among the sparsely populated vast tract of land in Quezon which was cited for the area for settlement and agricultural development. It is the largest barangay in terms of population and land area, having 2 distant zones “SITIO” Sta. Marcela and Lebanon. Its population as of 2011 census is 3,457. It is geographically located in the southern part of the town proper at 7 kilometers distance. Its main access is the Cagayan Valley National Highway that traverses in a general north-south direction virtually slicing the barangay lengthwise and connects it to town proper.

As of present, its predominant source of income is mainly agricultural and some industrial. In terms of ethnicity, the first settlers were among the Ilocanos and Pangasinense from the nearby regions and Igorots and Kalingas from adjacent provinces. The most practiced tongue is Iloco.

To address the dire need of accessible education in the public school system, the barangay leaders established an extension school of Quezon High School for the School Year 2002-2003. The school is strategically located at the heart of the barangay proper, adjacent to the elementary school and the community center.
